We are seeking friendly and efficient Servers/Cashiers and Kitchen Helpers in one of the most characteristic historical gold mining towns, Barkerville, BC! The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service, ensure food safety and sanitation standards, and contribute to a welcoming dining experience, while dressed in appropriate era attire. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in food service is preferred. The Server will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, (including alcohol, must be of age) handling transactions, and preparing basic food items.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive customer service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, including cashiering duties
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Assist with food preparation or kitchen tasks as needed to support smooth operations
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations in compliance with sanitation standard
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred but not required
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Basic math skills for order accuracy and cash handling responsibilities
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Kitchen experience or hospitality background is a plus but not mandatory
- Effective communication skills to interact with guests and team members effectively
